Perth World Fringe FAQ!

Welcome to the Perth World Fringe!

We know what you’re thinking: “Gosh!” you think, “That cakebombing! event sounds pretty great,” (you’d be right on track, at this point) “but I’m a bit confused”

Fair enough. It’s hard enough to explain cakebombing! in all it’s glory while talking to someone over a cup of freshly brewed organic fair-trade coffee, so fitting all of that crazy energy and caveats into one internet formatted paragraph was extra tricky. It worked though, because here we are. You’ve clicked on the link and are looking at our website, hoping for some answers. We can’t answer them all, but we can try to guess what they might be… and we’ve done that… so read on, dear audience. If you have some more specific questions, please contact us at theflyingtapirs@gmail.com

FAQs:

How do I let the Flying Tapirs know about the address and time of the event I’d like to have Cakebombed?

When you book a ticket for Cakebombing through the Perth World Fringe Festival, you will come straight back to this very website, and download a form where you can outline the Cakebombing address, date & time, as well as other necessary details.

Do you cater for food intolerances/allergies?

Yes we do, within reason. When you receive an email from us, we will happily correspond with you regarding any food intolerances or requirements you may have.

What areas of Perth will you Cakebomb?

We will cakebomb your dinner party, workplace, picnic, etc. Whatever you can think of, we can imagine a way to make it happen. Due to time constraints, we will have to stay mainly within the inner-mid suburban Perth area. However, if you have a real hankering for a cake and a song, and live slightly further away than that, still drop us a line and we’ll see if we can make it work.

Do I need to be present at the Cakebombing?

Yes, the purchaser of the ticket needs to be present at the Cakebombing itself. Surprises are fun, but out of context they may be unwelcome. You might be inside the house when The Flying Tapirs arrive, or we could also meet you outside and approach the front door together.

How long will the performance last?

To maximise the surprise element of a Cakebomb, we do not stay around to chat after the performance – we arrive, ask to be invited in, perform, give you the baked goods, and run away. All up approx 5-10 mins.

Will there be a record of the Cakebombing?

We often film our Cakebombs, and are happy to provide you with a copy of the event on a private youtube listing. You are also very welcome to organise an in-house video, on your phone or something fancier.

How many people will be involved in this event?

At the Cakebombing! itself, there will be two performers: Miranda and Leah, as well as possibly a videographer and/or photographer. The maximum will be 4 people, but most likely it’ll be just the two of us. If you have any privacy concerns we are happy to not record the event.

Are refunds available if we need to cancel or delay the Cakebomb for any reason?

Unfortunately Cakebomb tickets are non-refundable and unable to be delayed, as we will need to keep to our performance schedule each afternoon/evening. However if plans do change, please get in contact with us and we will do our best to find an alternate solution.

Wait… what?

It may not make much sense, but it’s very simple. Book one of our very limited spots, and then fill in our form with some details to make the cakebombing! happen. This includes your address, dietary requirements, and how many people we can expect to find at your abode. Then, at the appointed time, we arrive at your house (or picnic, or friends house) with cake and a song. We need you to be there at this time. Cakebombing! is fun and lighthearted and on a sugar high, and if you’re not there it could be a little creepy. Afterwards, when you’re basking in the glow of a surprise well kept, we will email you a link to a private video of your personal cakebombing! experience.
